Point of sale & operations · 2026

A fencing counter, rebuilt as software.

AA Fencing UK Ltd sold from handwritten carbon-copy pads for years. We built them a single in-house platform — point of sale, CRM, order management and live QuickBooks accounting — that now runs every sale, quote and delivery.

From carbon copy to command centre.

Eleven years into the partnership, the whole operation moved off the pad and onto one system — the counter, the back office and the accounts.

Inside the system

Four screens that run the business.

A live command centre

The morning view: quotes, orders, revenue and win-rate for the day and the rolling week — each with day-over-day movement, straight off the live backend.

Every quote, instantly searchable

Thousands of quotes with type-ahead search across number, company, email and staff, live indexing, and one click to turn a quote into an order.

A touch-screen trade counter

The full catalogue with live stock and per-product colour and fixing options on the left; a running quote on the right with delivery, weight, VAT and totals.

Orders wired to the accounts

Fulfilment workflow, billing and delivery, a customer payment link and two-way QuickBooks sync — invoices post themselves, so nothing gets rekeyed.

The problem

Every sale began on a triplicate carbon-copy pad. Orders were rekeyed into the accounts by hand, there was no live stock or customer history, and nobody could see how the day — or the pipeline — was really performing.

What we built

A single in-house platform: a Next.js front end on a Medusa commerce core, with a fast touch-screen till, a searchable CRM, full order and delivery management, and a two-way QuickBooks sync that posts invoices automatically — so nothing gets typed twice.
